THE FOUNDER

Chris Ruiz
Founder & CEO, Bloom Bioscience
Chris Ruiz is deeply passionate about health and nutrition for both humans and pets, with a strong commitment to animal advocacy. He supports several local and global animal rescue organizations, co-founded I Once Was Lost, a dog sanctuary near Austin, Texas, and launched World Paws, offering low-cost FIP treatment for felines, 30% of its proceeds benefit rescues like Austin Pets Alive! and the Cheetah Conservation Fund.
With a background in nutrition, engineering, and physics, Chris spearheaded the initial formulation of Bloom Bioscience’s supplements and continues to guide the science team in developing rigorous trials and evidence-based methods to validate product efficacy.
Inspired by two decades of hands-on experience treating community and feral cats with conditions such as UTIs, URIs, FeLV, FIV and CKD—where the only practical treatment was supplementing food—Chris’s boots-on-the-ground insights formed the foundation of Bloom’s mission. His leadership has expanded into advancing research into electrolyte balance, vascular health, oxidative stress, and the innovative concept of zeta potential in pet hydration, principles prominently showcased across Bloom’s scientific publications Research » Bloom Bioscience
Among the key breakthroughs under his direction are Bloom’s signatures: formulations targeting oxidative stress (Revitalize Health & Immunity), electrolyte and hydration balance (Revitalize Hydration), vascular integrity (Hemo-Life for Pets), and an array of case study-driven interventions for kidney, heart, and urinary health.
Chris holds a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from California State University, Long Beach, and maintains professional engineering licensure in both California and Texas.
